At Attendify, we believe in quality, and that includes our staff. Our team members are dedicated event and technology professionals as well as generally awesome people. In this new feature we’ll be introducing you to the different members of the Attendify family. Please feel free to reach out and get in touch!
How long have you worked at Attendify?
I’ve worked at Attendify since the very beginning, I’m one of the co-founders :-) We incorporated back in May 2011, but at that time we were all working part-time. Originally the company was called KitApps, we were planning to make an app builder for small businesses in different industries. The first app we launched just happened to be for the event industry, and the feedback we got led us to change our strategy and focus only on the event industry. We changed the company’s name to Attendify in April 2013 to focus solely on events.
What team do you work with at Attendify?
I’m the CEO, and at a startup that means you end up wearing a lot of different hats. I spend most of my time working with the product team and on business development, but everyday I also work on accounting, marketing, HR, legal, etc. It’s very fast-paced; days just fly by.
What is the best thing about working at Attendify?
The team we’ve built is great, and we have really supportive clients, so its a bit cliché, but the people make it all work.
What is your favorite memory related to working at Attendify?
The first time a client completed an app from start to finish without contacting us for support was a great feeling, and it happened pretty early on. That told me that we were on the right track, and the product was easy enough to use. It’s still a great feeling every time a client finishes and submits their app; it keeps me moving and motivated to improve the user experience.
What is your favorite piece of technology, and why?
Recently I’ve been enjoying my FitBit activity tracker. It counts steps, floors climbed, calories, etc. it keeps me much more active than I normally would be throughout the day. There’s a lot of cool wearable tech coming out.
What is the last app you downloaded? Would you recommend it?
Recently I downloaded Applauze, an event discovery app that is fun and useful. I like their card interface, and I’ve found a few interesting concerts and sporting events I would have probably missed otherwise.
What is your dream vacation?
I’ve been thinking about going to Japan for years now, I’ve traveled around the US and Europe, but haven’t been in Asia. Japan seems fascinating, Tokyo in particular draws me in; I love big, vibrant, busy cities.
