New Profiles are Here!

New attendee profiles are here and we’re very excited about this update! We designed the new profiles with your feedback in mind, and the goal of helping attendees connect before, during, and after the event. Here’s a rundown of what’s new:

Refined Look & Feel:

We updated the design to better fit the overall color scheme and look of your event app. Attendee photos are now automatically rounded for a more contemporary look, and key information such as the job title and company name are more visible at the center of the screen. The private messaging feature is more accessible than before, as is the ability to take notes by pressing the “+” icon in the upper right hand corner. The social activity stream associated with that profile is also included giving attendees more information about what their peers are sharing in the app and making it easy to break the ice.

 New Bio & Interest Tags:

We added a new “bio” section to the attendee profile which includes a 140 character description, a location field, and the ability to add interest tags. Tags are an exciting new way for attendees to self-identify with topics, activities, or objectives and make it easy to find others with the same interests. For example, if you’re hosting a marketing conference you can add tags such as “Social Media,” “Ad Tech,” “Affiliate Marketing,” etc. for users to include on their profiles. Tags can be tapped/clicked to bring up a full list of profiles that match that interest, they are also searchable making them a great way for attendees to find each other.

Expanded Contact Information & vCards:

We also expanded the types of contact information that can be reveled on a profile, while also including rich social media connectivity enabling attendees to connect instantly on LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter. Attendees can also optionally include a phone number, email address, or website URL on their profile. Best of all, this contact information can be saved to a personal address book with one click/tap on the “vCard” button. Think of a vCards as a digital business card that your phone’s address book knows how to read and can automatically save. vCards are a universal standard, so they’re compatible with iPhone and Android devices and virtually every address book app you can think of.

Update your App:

To get the latest profiles in your app you’ll need to make sure it’s updated to the latest version. Start by logging into your Attendify account and clicking on the red notification icon (settings button) and then select “update.” We’ll resubmit your app with the latest features for publication within the next 5-10 business days. See the screenshot below for clarification and contact us if you have any questions.

When you’ve had a chance to test the profiles let us know what you think in the comments or email us directly Stay tuned for another big announcement next week!
